hi guys i know usually when some one ask for help with a regal its always because of whitespot..

well mine doesnt get whitespot at all:thumbup:

just a question could a regal tang be a carnivore?

i have had my regal from abot a 50c coin size i will have him a year in feb..

the thing is he/she tend to eat all my fishes fins which are smaller and slower the what she is..

my previous yellow didnt even seem to have fins and then one day i spotted the regal attacking and eating them off. now same problem with my clowns.

    any advice

They do eat meaty foods, tangs are omnivorous. I think your dude is just very aggressive and territorial, fish will attack fins first, maybe he doesn't have enough space.

he was alone with 3 other fish in a 600l system with loads off swimming space so it cant be that. i got some bigger fish than her now to see if that helps and it does but now she goes after the smaller ones again. really pissing me off

It's worth a shot I reckon. It'll cost you a piece of mirror and the unfortunate large capital expenditure hit for some prestik :)

Take her out, sump her for a week or three. Change some scaping and add her back into the tank after a lekker feed. Use the mirror when re introducing her. Will distract all fish in tank. except clowns, its like they too stoned to care. :)

Ok, mirror trick. Works very well. Stick a mirror to the outside of your tank, hopefully the af=gressive fish will be too interested in it's own reflection to bother the new fish. At the same feed the fish their favourite food, in the case of tangs, Nori. Regal's get ich, all fish do, tangs, angels and butterfly's are more susceptible to the parasite.

lol, The green does work!! How do you think i'm able to keep 9 tangs 3 of which are Regals without issue.
But that is a longterm thing i doubt it will make a noticeable improvement in a day or two.
