Not too sure about the K rating on the bulb. But from what I have read and seen on some of the international forums. The 20K BLV does good for growth hey, as well as coloration.

They actually lovely globes hey. There was a tank if im not mistaken on reef central, this guy ran only 20K BLV's, and his growth rate on his SPS was phenomenal! Im no Nennie expert, but im sure if SPS were thriving under that lighting, so would a Nennie...

Mariusmeyer has 20k blv globes and his sps are doing good. It also doesnt look too blue, I thought he had 14k globes

The BLV 20000K is a brilliant globe. I've seen it on mariusmayers tank and it gives a nice crisp, slightly blue light. He has good growth in a 600 deep tank. Where are you wanting to buy it from?

It was my mh unit and they are not as blue as the reeftek bulbs. If you not happy you can bring it back no problem

14k is best for the coral growth and its now really yellow, it has a higher par reading than 20k, but doesnt mean the 20k is crap :) ..

If I were you I would use the 20k. Im going to use a 14k but Im also going to be supplementing with loads of t5's
