Help with low ORP !

    Hi guys, i have just invested in a Mv monitor and have got a reading of 150 in my 2 year old tank and a reading of 130 in my new tank( running since 26/12/2007), well accoring to my research that is vey low! I am supposed to be aming for 300Mv. I need help in trying to recitfy this problem.... any suggestions, besides the obvious, water change, ozone, better skimming.:)

    What are your pH and DO levels?

    ph is 8.2, is DO dissolved oxygen? if it is how do you measure?

    You need to attach an oziniser to the Mv controller. I run my Mv at 400

    There is no quick fix method, rather look at your stock. Are they happy, if they are then dont worry. My advice here is dont get too hung up on ORP readings.

    ORP= Oxidation-Reduction Potential
    "Redox" is another expression for same .
    Can't let you slip up now, can we.

    don't read too much in the level, but u r on a very low side. 400 is ideal. i raised my ORP but 80 by adding a ozonizer and by another 50 but upgrading my skimmer. there are some many factors to consider in ORP that one cannot just say do this or that.

    Some basics:
    How old is your meter ? new ones can take up to 2 weeks before it gives an accurate reading. Did u calibrate the probe after 2 weeks of installation?
