    Hi everyone.

So about four months ago I purhased a second hand boyu tl550. I am the third owner of the tank. The owner before the previous owner did a diy LED upgrade of the hood. There are 20 LED's all together. 3 White ones run from the same switch and the rest of them run from another.

Recently whenever I turn all the LED's on the white ones start to dim a lot and when I turn the other ones off so that just the whites are burning, the light is almost unnoticible. What is causing this amd how do I fix it? Any help would be apreciated.

After about 2-5mins of running they dim.

I would take out and re do the entire setup in the hood. Don't trust other people's work

I would open the unit and look for corrosion. Fix any doggy looking soldering points. I think it might be your driver. Those units came with like only 3 or little more blue leds and the rest all white. The unit has been moded like you said. Open up the unit and take some pics of the soldering points if you not clued up with electronics then ill assist you.

Just curious. How long can the coral be without light? I can open a window for them to get indirect sunlight.
