    Hi Guys,

Im new here. I currently have a sps tank using 8 x T5. I am busy having a house built and ofcourse, new house, new tank. Only thing I still need to decide on is my lighting. I want to get LED's. Tank dimensions are 130L x 70W x 50H.

I have been looking at 2 x Maxpect 160w, mailed fishstreet and they said the lights give problems and they are out of stock and that I should look at Key. Search on google, guys oversease had problems with individual LED's blowing on the Key units and bad backup service.

Can anyone please help. My budget is around R11K. I want to get something decent if I spend that amount. This tank will be barebottom, full sps.

    Looking forward to your reply's.

    Welcome to the forum!!!

Depends on how much you are willing to spend.
Have a chat with Submariner he sell Vertex LED units.
In my opinion the best unit out there!

Look at the AquaRay tiles. My tank is 1500x600x600 and I have 3 of the 1000 units (30w each) supplemented with 2x54w T5 actinics and my Sps growth over the last 2 weeks since installation has been on par if not better than my previous 3x 250w MH. I have a thread on the SARK site. The same system will cover your tank within your budget.

    Welcome

At .500 deep the possibilitys are endless. there are a variery of units available on the SA market these days. and you get what you pay for.. obviously fully controllable units are pricey but the ultimate in LED technology atm and where i would like to be with my system..

im sure our sponsors will be able to assist...

PS: start a thread on your proposed system and lets get the ball rolling :)

    Thanx for replys guys,

What do you think of the cree 60 watt units. I was looking at 3 or 4 of these for my system.
The Aquarays are nice but I feel a bit pricey for what you get.

Please give me your opinions on my thoughts.
