help with leathers

    Hi guys, I am having some serious problem with my new pincusion leather, he started out fine but is now not openning and looks like its polyps are falling out, also my other finger leather is now not openning, desperately looking for help, I have sps and other softies which are doing wonderfully but the leather are suffering, any ideas please?

    Can you post a pic?
    How long have you had them?
    How long is the problem occurring now?
    Also, What lighting is used?
    What are your exact water parameters (Not a good idea to say 100%, or OK :) ) The more detailed info, the better the gurus can assist...

    How long have they been closed for? Leathers can sulk for a long time?

    leathers can take 7 days or so, also are you running carbon?
    it could be aleopathy

    Will post some pics asap, it started a couple days after i put the leather in, it m ust be chemical warfare but why are only the leather affected?

    Water parameters are all in check, salinity 1.025, carbonate is a bit high, could this be the reason?
    Will running carbon help? if so i will start asap!

    Leathers are pretty hardy fellas, like the other guys say, it might take a few days for them to totally get used to their new surroundings. Are you running carbon? I ask, because if you mix softies and sps together you will get chemical warfare, softies like to excrete a lot of mucous with irritates sps which in turn excrete mucous nets for protection. Carbon is vital in a system with a variety of corals, like yours.:)
