That is one sick looking coral.

Give us some ideas on your water parameters.

Why did you buy it like this ?

Looks like it could have a parasitic infection

Is it in a high flow area?

what depth of water is it in ?

What filtration system do you have?

What colour is it as I can't really judge from the picture. Sometimes they are dyed to make them more colourful but it's definately not happy. Try an move it up to more light and flow and off the gravel.

The colour in the picture is spot on not sure if that is a natural colour or not,I have lifted it onto the live rock and redirected one of the powerheads so lets see what happens. Thanks for the input, will keep you posted.

This is a sarcophytum/lobophytom leather coral. It seems to be struggling to adjust. I have never seen these corals on the substrate. So - putting it inbetween the rockwork, closer to the light, (and, as the others has said) more in greater flow.....

It will survive. You CAN dose a little bit of iodine (for now - while your are still in the early years) - get some commercial Iodine.... ie. Red Sea Iodine....... or something similar..... Soft corals appreciate higher levels of iodine....
