Help With a Freshwater fish

    Hey everyone.
    I know this is a Marine Forum, but i thought that someone out there might be able to help me identify this fish i have.

    I bought the tank, and it came with the tank along with two silver dollars. I also need to find a home for him(or her) as it is very unhappy where it is at the moment, as its in its own tank alone, because it will eat my other fish :(

    looks like a chiclid to me.. I dont know so much about FW :whistling: .. Lol but you have a better chance of getting an answer here than a FW forum.. Damn those forums are boring :lol:

    hehe! Thanks :) I thought he was a type of malawi, but im not sure... then someone told me he might be a Mosambique tilapia... and now im just flat out confused :p

    Yea this forum is pretty awesome :) Colleague of mine at work raves about u guys (He got me back into fishies recently :p)

    I dont know much about FW fish but malwai's are african chiclids from lake malawi. You also get american chiclids :) ..Malawis are nice if you got a big tank

    yes, this is a central american chiclid - probably cichlasoma synspilum.

    Herichthys cyanoguttatus AKA Texan cichlid - aggro if not in a group and will eat anything and everything (loves plants) - - have seen 1 of them take on a full grown oscar and win

    but i think they now blacklisted if i am not mistaken

    You guys do realize that this thread is more than six months old and he/she has probably quit the hobby by now. :)
