Help Setup Tunze DOC Skimmer 9210

howzit crew.anyone using the above skimmer?ive got one and im having problems setting it up.cant seem to get the correct depth in order for it to perform.can somebody post a pic of this thing in action please?
 
Mekaeel, sorry have never used this skimmer so am unable to help here.
 
Got one similar to that and never got it to get a nice dark skimmate. Always watery. Good luck buddy.
 
There is normally a water level guide printed on the clear outer riser tube, but it wears off quite easily so you may have to look closely.

Looks to me like you may have the skimmer a bit on the shallow side, why not drop it a cm or 2?
 
Incidently, some people have had success modifying the intake for these system-style skimmers. If you feel like it, you can drill a hole through the base plate below the pump and fit some pipe through the hole, up to the pump inlet. That way the pump actively draws water from the sump/tank rather than passively circulating. There's a thread on RC, somewhere.

I am the distributor for TUNZE in this country for the past 15 years and I see you live in North beech please feel free to bring me the skimmer so that I can have a look at it. Show you and you can have a look at some now running for abot 15 years,
I am suprised you first dont come to the beggining of the chain, for advice.

If you have work constraints you could even come after hours.
