Ah mine is like the same. @The Waterboy - Marco will tell you how to do it right. That valve in the last pic, as it is now is to make RO, when its turned the other way thats to flush the system

The blue valve screws into the big chrome adaptor, which then goes onto one of your taps. You need to turn off your mains water, then unscrew the pipe from one of your taps under the sink or wherever, the chrome adaptor then screws onto the tap, then you put the mains water pipe back on the chrome adaptor.

Waste water goes anywhere, into your swimming pool, down the drain, or into your garden.

If you look carefully, there should be three "connection points" on the membrane housing (that narrower horisontal white tube shown in your first pic, the one below the clear tube with the brown stuff). Two of these connections should come from the left hand side (opposite the screw lid), and one should go through the screw lid. The latter is your water "inlet", entering the membrane housing after being filtered by the two vertical pre filters. On the closed side, the centre-most fitting is your filtered outlet, which should then go to the DI (de-ionisation) resin filter (the clear horisontal tube with the brown stuff). The second outlet on that side of the membrane housing is the waste water outlet.

As Viper said, you can either let this run into your drain, but keep in mind that this water has already been filtered by the two pre-filters, and is actually better than your tap water. Use it for washing, to water your garden, or (if your tap water is healthy) for drinking water - it will contain more minerals than your tap water.

One further bit of advise: Rinse your filter system, and discard the first 2-3 hours of filtered water - the membranes are preserved with an anti-mold agent when manufactured, and this must be flushed from the membrane before the water is safe to use in your tank.

    Hope this helps.

im also not to sure about the resin used in the chamber.........i cannot be 100% sure but it looks as though they gave you water softning resin there as de-ionising resin is either blue that changes to brown ......or brown........if its lighter the chances are its water softning resin and not de-ionising resin.........but dont quote me.......:whistling:

Definitely got the 2 pipes mixed up, the waste water gushes out and the RO water is a slow trickle, it can take days to fill up a big tank :( But that's how they work. :)

Can your waste water be reused through the RO unit, just having a look at how much waste water there is and dont really wanna waste so much water, so my question is, is a RO unit worth it in the long run compard to buying RO water and the increase of the water bill?
