    HI guys,

Please kind give me your advice as to what system to get.

I have only 13k, to spend on a setup. I recently sold my red sea max 250. ( was a great system)

And have come up with 3 choices? if you can recommend any of them or any other it would help alot!

    1. A nano ?

    2. the aqua medic grammer

    3. the aquaria 1000 ( 1m tank very nice finish 600l with sump etc. complete. ) The lighting is of concern.

    Please send suggestions :1:

    Thanks
    Regards

    Wade

Let's start at what size you are looking for and go from there.

I'd go for one of the Boyu's T550 / HS60 from a bang for your buck perspective.
Depends though on how large you want to go.

Apart from the lighting unit, the aquaria is a great system, I did a very easy mod and am happy with the results

I do not know much about small systems, nor the plug and play... But I must add. I visited the warehouse of Aqauria on Friday, and was honestly impress..... I did not even know one can get plug and play systems other than the very small ones. They even have a 3 meter (well, they have lots). I have looked at the quality of the build, glass as well as cupboards, and am very impressed. Maybe speak to @ Aquaria-SA

    HI guys,.

Thank you for all the comments, it has helped me in choosing a system. I really do like the aquaria product, I am slightly concerned about the lighting though. any mod suggestions ?

I was really happy with my Red sea, could not fault it. Just though it was time to move on to the next thing.

Your question is the same as "I want to buy a vehicle, which one is the best option"

Do you want a sedan, boot, bakkie, 4*4, hatchback, 1L, 2L, 3L plus, 4 doors, 2 doors, 5 doors, cabriolet, coupé, station wagon, single cab, double cab, extra cab.... I do not know what is your requirements....

First, get an idea of the type of system you want. Corals? LPS, SPS, softies, fish only.... ?????
That defines your lightning requirements, your flow pumps, your filtration needed (water quality)

What type of fish? Do you like tangs? If yes, no tank under 1.2m at least.

Can you DIY? or do you have 10 thumbs?

sit back and first define what you want. After all, a system success is directly related to its setup.

I'm with @Difficult marine on this one. The Red Sea range of tanks are by far the best plug and play system on the market in SA. An upgrade on that would be a fully automated custom build.

Go custom and Get a tank that you can grow into and adapt to your needs. Its a better long term investment
