Usually most pumps have their ratings on a sticker with a "head height" value .... What does your say ... Also is this going straight up or takings some turns before because all that causes head height losses ....

whats the total volume of water for your system? With the head loss it might be to small if it can infact pump the water 1m at all.

This is fine because you must consider that your return pipe must turn and go into your tank ..... Just a word of caution ... The "mouth" of your return should be just touching the water surface so that it does not cause water to splash and not deep inside or if there is a power failure it will create a siphon and drain your tank to the sump causing divorce papers to be drawn up tomorrow!

This pump can work depending on the total water volume of your tank. A quick estimate would be to try and turn around 6 - 10 times your total water volume. I can only assume that with this pump you might only get 600 - 1000l water movement (taking into consideration 2 X 45 degree elbows). A spay bar can work if it is placed under the water otherwise you are going to battle with salt creep on your lighting unit. I would rather keep it simple with a single outlet as the advantage of what you are suggesting is minimal and would restrict the return pump even more.
