help, old clueless newbe restarting

    i had a 2m tank about a year back and after loosing thousands due to lack of knowlege and experience i through in the the towel, i have now scraped together the courage to start again.

    im looking at getting a 1.2x500x500

    please advise on:

    lights
    tank size
    base rock
    live rock
    pumps
    other hardware
    CLS
    ATS etc

    bascily advise on anything you want to pls

    Well... it really depends on what you want to keep.
    Softies, less flow, T5 lights
    SPS, more flow MH lights.

    fish only tank with live rock, then bio-balls / ceramic rings will do. Else if anything like anemones, SPS, Clams etc, then bio-balls is a no-no.

    So tell us first what is your livestock ambitions....

    softies & lps you can use T5HO save on electric bills and less heat.
    lps & sps T5 to MH or combo but you will need a chiller.
    CLS is good but have the tank drilled first,
    and a couple of good size pump (not familiar with what available there) pump output will depend on the tank size 1 for return & 1 for CLS.
    A good size sump with baffles it would be nice to add the fuge portion in the sump.
    Planning is the key know what you want and design from there.

    what was the reason ur old tank crashed?there are lotsa CPt guys that will be willing to assist where we can,just shout on MASA!what side of CPT u from?

    did not not crash,just gave up and sold everything, i have a skimmer,t5s and lifetech APS800 pumps
