    Looks OK.

Is the frame for the shelve made from angle iron? with the plate across?
Or is the plate just bend up? If so what is the thickness of the plate?

what is the dimensions of the tank on top.

I doubt is that stand will withstand flexing forces on it. Needs triangular supports, especially for the sump area. Did you tell the builder the approximate weight the system will be when done. And that it is not a static dead weight. When you clean the glass with the magnets, it will flex the stand. I'm sure.

    or

Or a combo, where the center plate is moved to be flush with the outside of the square , not outside as in second picture

And the gussets like riaanp said will strengthen it up a lot and will help make sure it's squareish I'm a fabricator and it's not easy to make something square

    Speak to Fuzzy form Aquahadia

That tank of yours looks very much like the default size of his cubes. And they come with stand and sump.

AQH-450s nano cube - Marine Aquariums South Africa

he does have 450mm and 600mm and 90mm cubes if I'm not mistaken
