Help needed identifying skimmer and rating

    thats a boyu or jebo I would not use it on anything bigger than 100L

    boy, macro aqua, dymax or jebo.. not great unfortunatley but awsome for a small nano.. the pumps often claim to be able to do 1200lt capacity on some but they are rarely capable of doing 200lt..

    i have even added otp2000 pumps on to a friend of mines and there is no difference owing to the reduced diameter of the piping inside the skimmer which causes a restriction in the flow pushed into it and hampers the pumps abaility to draw suffiecient air..

    that particular one looks like it is the one i remember being rated for 600lt..(false)

    Thanks Leslie. i have a 500 liter tank. so it ain't going to work.:(

    while the bioload is low (1 or 2 fish) yes but as you increase this you will need to invest in a bigger skimmer..

    look at Skimz, Reefocto, Aqua-medic..

    if you browse the for sale forums you can pick up some real bargains..
