Does anyone have an RO unit sitting on a shelf somewhere?

Would you be willing to sell it at a reasonably low price?

Budget is killing me right now with setting up my new tank:(

Dallas, that would be awesome. I dont need RO water urgently but thanks for the offer to make some.

I just realised though that I will be filling the new tank next week friday and After buying the tank and sump making a stand and powder coating it as well as 23 kgs of reef salt and a new skimmer and light unit that my budget that I thought I had for an RO unit has shrunk.

I would be happy to purchase one from you if you have a spare. But just cant afford a New one right now.

Got RO unit, I closed down. 3 stage.

the overflow tap is broken but you should be able to get that for cheap.

    Make me an offer

I know I'm going to get murdered here, but I have always done my first fill with good old tap water and dechlorinator and RO from there onwards. The bacteria additions and carbon take care of the pollutants on our water

that was like opening the can of worms knowing that the worms had teeth and consider humans a delicacy....:p

I dont see the point in using tap water and then trying to get rid of the pollutants afterwards once your live rock has absorbed some.
Not putting it in the system makes more sense to me....

The pollutants are negligable and will bite you in the behind if one continuously uses tap water. My last tank I set up a few months ago with an initial tap water fill had just about zero nitrates and phosphates after a few weeks with only base rock, no DSB or any nitrate removers and a 24hour cycle before adding livestock. Heavy metals are adsorbed by the carbon which one runs from day one. The tank runs for a day with freshwater only for a leakage test and another day with the salt to mix and get to temperature. I'm not saying you must go this route but just trying to help you as you dont have a RO unit
