Is it quite thick/stiff or soft and fluffy? If thick I think @RiaanP knows the name of it.

Yes it's the stiff one didn't feel it yet but for sure know it's not the common soft GHA

If it's just on the one rock I would be tempted to take it out and give it an acid bath in some hth. Although I have had similar algae to this over the years and it never seems to get out of hand.

Thanx alot viper357 I now atleast know what im up against wil take rock out and try and scrub it off and learn more how it started in tank

form of Bryopsis if not mistaken.

very hard gut line like feel to it.
must take it out by the root. Else it just regrow. Hardly any fish eats it as well. It will even survive a few days in absolute darkness.

Medium flat screwdriver to dig out the root part does work.

Ok thanx must remove self had great algae eaters in the tank no one worryd with that algae

Yip looks like Bryopsis. Pain if it spreads. Like Riaan said, make sure you get the roots out as well.

I've read somewhere that high Mg kills it as well, but I suggest further research into this option.

yip, higher Mg does kill it.
