How long has the tank been running. What do you feed. How big is the tank.
    What have you tested for.

How often are you feeding? Any idea how long they were at the lfs?

Sorry for your loss. Its always sad to lose a fish let alone 12. Have you been feeding them several times a day. Goldies need to be fed at least 4-6 times a day.

You sure this is right? It's suppose to be 1.025
How big is the tank? What's the ammonia and nitrite levels? How soon after each other did you add them?

3 times a day is fine. My first batch of anthias I got all died within 2 weeks, (got them from a dodgy lfs.) Did you actually see them feed or were they just swimming frantically around the other fish that were eating? Took mine nearly 2 months to eat pellets

"tank has been running for almost 6 months now "

this statement is disturbing me... so many additions in such a shortt time? what is yor total fish stock holding, please elaborate on species etc so that we can troubleshoot through hardiness of species etc etc..

and please post actual parameters on ammonia/nitrite testing

i have 7 goldies in a 500lt system and feed them frequently but not nearly as much as i should and they have been fine for over a year now..

have yoy observed any white flakiness on the goldies at all?

I assume you mean salinity is 1.024. What else is in the tank livestock wise.
Goldies require more oxygen than other fish and are also more sensitive to chemicals and aerosols, was there any painting or cleaning carried out near the tank. Also any new batches of food that may have been contaminated. It sounds more like a sudden than gradual condition.

    few fire shrimp
    naso tang
    regal tang
    3 yellow tangs]

the starnge thing is the goldies seemed perfect and in a matter of a few days all died ! very disturbing as one gets many different views on stocking of ones tank and i have been lead to believe that my stocking of my tank has been done perfectly !
as a newbee i can only trust the pro's
all the other fish are fat and helthy
i will try post some pics later so you can maybe see how they look

no , there was no white flakey stuff on goldies

    thanks Leslie
