Hi I wanted to remove the large plug from the anchor coral to be able to place it better in the rock, and split it in half by accident. What are the chances of recovery. Dont want it to start with the brown jelly then it will spread like fire and kill all other corals. Should I remove him or will he be able to recover.

    How does it look?
It might pull through. Watch it closely and if it started receding quickly then take it out

It was a clean straight break. Made a bit of slime I removed the loose pieces. It is starting to open but lights went off so wont be able to see if he opens fully till tomorrow. Can they survive this.

Does each half have a mouth?
I have heard of someone fragging one years ago and it survived, so there is a chance that it might

I have never seen any mouth on him so he might have. How did he frag him by breaking him in half?
