Dont put that in your tank. The red fluff takes hold and is very difficult to remove?

hi Sam and :welcometomasa2: to MASA

the feather dusters look awesome but the red algae will spread in your tank real fast taking over everything

    welcome

agreed the red stuff is no good

i would take a chance tho as long as its cleaned before going in

Can you not scrub the red stuff off with a clean brush or tooth brush

then put it into your tank and keep watching for the red algae growth , when you see it starting to grow just give it another scrub till its completely taken care of

or you can try break the rock into smaller parts and only take in the dusters. after you break the rock just dip it in some of your tank water for 20 min to clean it off and its ready to go.
I wouldn't risk putting that red stuff in my tank. it will only take few spores to cause a disaster
