    Hi all,
I will be setting up an aquarium as part of a school project. I will have to use aquarium heaters/coolers to maintain the temperature in the aquarium.

I'm therefore asking for assistance on brand names of heaters with thermostats and companies where they can be bought from. The temperature range is 10 to 35 degrees celcius.

    I'd appreciate any assistance

    Welcome to MASA.

What kind of aquarium will you be setting up Nasil? Marine or Tropical?

Sounds like an interesting school project.

    Welcome to the forum.

Visitherm and Jager heaters are the best ones in my opinion.

    For a school project.
So not a permanent or long running setup in mind.

Most of the controllers etc, we used are quite expensive, to spend that money on a school project. And I doubt if you will get it at a shop in Zambia.

Max temperature, that is easy, just use one heater with thermostat unit.
Min temperature, more difficult. Must get dedicated tempostat, that controls some cooling device. This you have to assemble.

Temp range of 10 to 35 to be controlled. What do you want to do. Change the temp continiously between 10 and 35. Looks like a job for two termostats, some relays, fans, normal kitchen kettle and some DIY.

I'm not sure who stocks these, but you can try The Waterboy or Northlands Pets, I don't know of any other places in Durban. You could also try www.dorrypets.co.za, they do international shipping.

The temperatures will be fixed, will include a couple in between say 15, 25. The lower temperatures are admittedly more of a challenge

Just to clear this up for new guys. Tropical doesn't mean fresh water, it means warm water.
You get tropical marine tanks and cold water marine tanks and the same with fresh water setups, tropical fresh water tanks and cold fresh water tanks.
Eg, the east coast (Durban, etc) is tropical marine waters where the west coast is cold marine water.

So, I take it you are going to setup a tropical fresh water tank ;)
