    Hello and Welcome

In South Africa, glass is a lot cheaper than acrylic.

later in proper thread why I never again buy
    a glass one...:(
next week I will get confirmation for project
in SA. I'm working on new power plants to
reduce outage of electricity in PE and Durban.

    Hi everyone,
my name is Branko and in 1990 I start with my first Marine Aquarium
Sera 400 liter and in few years I learn common mistakes in marine
hobby. Sorry for mistakes in grammar.:p

I worked worldwide in different power electrical projects and this was
the main reason that I didn't build up almost 20 y. a new marine aquarium.
Projects was sometimes in harsh environment and short contract time
    and I allways give up...

Now I will get a project at least for 2-3 years and I wont to build a new
marine one with your help and suggestions.

In mean time I always buy or get some small equipment for new aquarium
and in photo album I will post it. Please show me where is the appropriate
    to put it. Thanks.

In 1997 in Hong Kong I buy 2 perfect water pumps IWAKI MD series and until now
they still work without problems with regular cleaning in one of Italian
aquarium shop in Reggio Emilia town. Last year I visit the shop and owner
told me : this pumps last much more then any other in last 21 y. from
openings shop. In 2008 I was again in HKong and incredible to found
the same street with lot of marine fishes and same shop. Owner was older
but he say: Yes I remember you *no one buy 2 Iwaki pumps at once :p

    Nice memories.

For the beginning this is it...

You have few shops in Zagreb and Slovenia near town Ljubljana.
If you need more detailed location I can check and send to you.
If you are near Rijeka town then I can send you directly to my
friends they will be glad to sell / change some corals with you...

thanks for the reply, i'm actually in banja luka, and the shops that are in zagreb are not holding any livestock for sale only equipment.
i dont have a problem driving to Slovenia if there are shops that hold livestock.
i will be happy if you can tell me where i can find them.

From B.luka town you are very quickly in Rijeka or with good highway to
Ljubljana town in Slovenia. You can also found a nice marine shops in
Austria I will ask my friend from Graz to write me down all...
From B.Luka cross Zagreb to Maribor and Graz is near then Wiena.LOL.

Here you can even order what you need, arrange the date of
arrival and be happy. Andrej is very kind. Small shop but true one.
If you ask him he will help you with more information's for shops
    in Austria.

Hi @European. Belinda is right. acrylic tank prices here are extremely expensive here in SA. for the dimension you are going for you will probably hurt your wallet big time.. anyway welcome to the Forum and hope we will be able to help you as much as possible with any questions you have

    Thanks

    for welcome and help.
Price in Europe for acrylic tank this dimension was when I order
a tank 4100 Euro but I sold this one bcs. I move in another
country for work and soon I change also a lot of project
worldwide and to build a tank without my presence was
    impossible.

I need to explain why I don't like glass aquarium.
In Italy where I live I have it one in 3th floor
and I was happy that I have insurance in this time.
3 apartments down was flushed...when glass broken.

Acrylic tank same dimension will never brake like this
one and any scratches I can polish at acrylic. One time
scratch on glass remain forever. You cant fix it.

Of course price is triple then glass but after this accident
I don't care I wont to sleep well. If you can imagine
1000 l and more salt water on the wooden parquet floor,
to not mention apartment furniture, carpets and another
3 apartments under me...ceiling, walls, siporex walls was
like sponge after few days blow up...

p.s. In Italy where I live in town Reggio Emilia earthquake of October 15, 1996
almost 5 Rihter and another one before 4 R...near R.E.
I learn one good think. Not regarding glass but if we have filters
near aquarium or in another room my (I have filters in near small room)
advice is to connect it with flexible tubes at least 15 cm free to move
bcs. aquarium was "walk" away 20 cm from the wall with seismic shakes.
And never fix aquarium support for floor. Especially heavy metal
construction and big glass aquarium over the 2 m long with water can be heavy
    more then 2500 kg.
