    Yay or Nay?

    im getting a 4ft and either going white aragonite or black. i dont have pictures to compare and the ones iv seen dont look t0 bad.

    i want something different but natural!

    what you guys think? post pics if you have any!

    black isnt too bad but if the system is small it can make it look smaller.. its actually more a greyish color once the lighting comes into play..

    white man, just too nice. if i wanted dirty sand i'd make it dirty myself :p

    Slummies, im using this stuff in my system. It's awesome hey. Im actually thinking about using the stuff in my nano aswell.

    Aren't you using the black and white Mek? That is what I put in my tank now - the Indo Pacific black & white arag-alive. Go check it out ;)

    If you can't make up your mind, get the black and white Indo-Pacific - best of both worlds :)

    Black looks cool,makes those corals colour look more intense!

    I've used black substrate as well and it not only makes the colours pop but hides algae growth on the substrate, one downside is the lack of reflection back onto the corals.

    im running 6 t5's so lighting shouldnt be a problem.

    aaah i got to wade through 77 pages:)

    Meks, have you noticed a change in behaviour with the fish from white to the speckled? reason i am asking, is cos in FW we notice that fish freaked out and went dull over a brighter substrate. darker they were more chilled

    Honestly, I havent noticed any difference in the behaviour of the fish hey. But the corals look much better :)

    black makes colours pop! so in a reef tank with bright corals, fish etc the black makes them look really great and its something dif, but in a good way... but the white looks more natural
