got my hammer coral about a 3 weeks ago, had a bit of damage from shipping. a few days later it started getting brown jelly on skeleton, so i fragged the bad part off, as well as some good part. hammer was going strong for about 2 weeks, growing and extending nicely. now when i look this morning, looks like the hammer is retracting a bit, and looks like brown jelly again. what to do? params are all in check.

Give it a iodine dip with lugols solution. I used a strength of 20 drops per 2L of water. Keep the coral in the dip for 15mins and use a turkey baster or something similar to blow all the jelly off that you can. Before you place it back in the tank give it another rinse in normal tank water just to make sure get rid of the lose jelly that will settle on it due to the blowing off with baster. You will have to do this everyday for a couple days. I dipped my ancora coral for 5 days even if it looked like the infection was gone.

I have taken my hammer out. Blew off the brown jelly. And now it's in the iodine dip for 15 mins. There is some die off though. Must I leave it for now?

sorry have not posted a pic of the hammer, been really busy. hammer seems to be doing a lot better. no more brown jelly, just the die off part of the hammer, have done iodine dips on a daily basis. so hopefully coral keeps growing now. will keep you guys updated.

    Pic?
What sort of die off is it? Are the heads receding, are they dying from the bottom up, or is part of the head melting away?
