Hey guys... I was wondering if anyone has used a halogen light on their algae scrubber and what the results were? (any halogen floodlights on scrubbers or on macroalgae and growth?)

Im using one temporarily (basically only for a month or two during midwinter) and will be using CFLs at a later date when finances allow (I'm a student)

The lights are nice and yellow for good algal growth. If you are perturbed by the electricity consumption you can use LED spot lights

thanks man... im just looking for good growth quickly at the moment. As it's winter the heat from the lamp will just mean my heater won't have to work overtime as it has been doing. I'm going to change to CFL's when soon enough I just wanted to know if the halogen would work :)
