    Hello Roekeloos.

Soon, those clowns will be eaten. Please see if you can swap them or sell them before then.

What is the size of your system, and what setup do you have for your filtration?

You will have to get that sailfin tang out of that small tank sooner rather than later, and while your at it take the lion with it to the lfs and swop them for fish that is more suitable to your size tank. Use Google to find a list of fish that will be happy in a nano and i am sure masa members will also help you in making some better fish stocking choices.

    Hi Roekeloos, Welcome to MASA!

If you want to learn, you surely came to the right place.

I trust that your login name will not reflect your attitude towards your tank? ;)

May your hobby bring you lots of joy.

Thanks a lot for all who replied. I'm in the process of moving into my own house and plan to buy or build a much larger tank to extend my marine life. more suggestions would be much appreciated
An informant told me that keeping the lionfish's tummy full will save my clowns for a while.

Eating cake every night and you would still like to have a piece of chocolate.
As soon as the male clown will fit into its mouth, that is where it will be. And I'm afraid that might be before you complete your new tank build. Maybe just get a new home for the Lion for now.

    Welcome to masa.

I believe you have a tl 550. thats a 128 l nano. I agree on moving the lion. also, that tang wont be happy.they need alot of swimming space. its going to get stressed, get white spot etc.that you dont want. see if you can get a lfs to keep it for you or to swop it for some smaller more suitable fish. You will get more pleasure keeping smaller fish than those big fish. also, the lion fish eats quite a bit so craps alot and will add to your bio load. Before you know it you will have algae issues and its not a pleasant thing to have. it will definitely eat those clowns as soon as it can. Do a bit of research on smaller fish, you can add coral as well to make the boyu even more beautiful. Have a look at some other threads on masa and the net and see how nice some of the nanos are with corals and suitable fish.

That "thing" you are referring to is aiptasia and you should aiptasia x it. dont try scrubb it as you will spread the spores and end up with loads of aiptasia. it will sting other corals and you dont want aiptasia in your tank.
