    Please excuse the noobie in me I was told this is GSP or that's what I heard :blush::blush:

    Now when I got her she was like this for a two weeks:
    [IMG]

    Now granted in the next picture she is still waking up :) but the area I have circled has stayed closed for the last four days with little sections barely popping out now and again. Parameters and lighting below:

    [IMG]

    Parameters:
    Using the Salifret test kits

    PH = 8.0
    Amonnia = < 0.25 (so the lowest on the color chart)
    N03 = 2
    N02 = 0.1
    Phosphate = 0.03
    BTW I am dosing Prodibia Start Up every 7 days

    Lighting:

    MH 150w
    x4 T5 Antics

    about a week ago - I am using some phosphate remover (sock not reactor) but the more and more I look at it the more and more I am thinking I should get one of those multichaimber reactors, just need an external one not one that requires a sump.

    What other ways do you get the dam Phosphates to drop?

    Hi

    That is GSP.

    All your parms are a tad bit high. O and ph should be at 8.2 !
    How old is your tank ect?
    And its normal for some parts to stay closed for a couple of days. Just look and make sure there is no deteriation on the coral itself.

    Hope this helps.

    any liquid phosphate remover is good, as they can be added and it skims out in 24hr.

    the spike in test results could be from the new addition, dont add for a few days and test again in 2-3 days.

    go to the lfs across from you and get pure reef phos-remover, reddish label and clear bottle, then you can add up to half the bottle and it will skim out over 24 hours

    there is also brighwell phosphat-E liquid

    or seachem Phos Gaurd

    Hmmm... Inpatience again......

    Your gsp is staying closed because your tank is starting to show diatoms.... Which is perfectly normal on a new tank..... Also, Gsp is notorious for sulking for days on end.... I have a purple tip nennie that behaves better than gsp.... You did a 50ltr water change a few days ago..... Let nature takes its course.....:thumbup:
