I need to upgrade my Chiller HC-500A. It can not handle my 2meter tank (1000L) since I put 3 x 400W MH over it. Before that it was perfect. It is 8 months old. Asking R3800.00

I have posted this on behalf of Mad German

Please PM him regarding the chiller

    Thanks

    Leigh

why buy a chiller if you can just buy a aircon then the whole room is nice and cold

Aircom does not work...well for me it did not and a chiller is far cheaper to run...

Have you worked out how much it cost to run? My aircon in my room rund from 9pm to 7am every morning as I like sleeping with it, my electrician told me it costs R7 per night to run. I have one where my tank is and it also runs on off and room temp is 20. I bet it costs around the same to run.. R14/ day so lets say it runs 1/2 the time R200 per month over 12 months = R2400.... 24 months....R4800 see where it's going?

everything costs something to run your pumps lights metal high lights anyway i suppose it is a personal thing i think for myself why should the fish be cool if we all can be cool i am sure you can make the same kind of sums for the ruuning of your metal hilights or whatever some people smoke a pak a day i dont smoke so maybe i use that lol

True... I'm unfortunatly not home very often so I found running the aircon 100% of the time a huge wast of energy...

I started to work everything out and stopped when I realised I did not want to know how much my tank chews...
