Ok decided to start a new thread on the nennie .

Bought a H . Magnifica in Aug 2011 and had it shipped to me. Big mistake. When the nennie arrived it was in a very bad state. No colour at all. Bleached and not able to let food stick to it's tenticles,to feed.See picture below

So started to keep food (small Hake pieces) close to its mouth untill it sticked and turned off the pumps.Had to keep away the clowns for plus minus 45 min before it took the food and swallowed it.Light's is 2 X 150MH not enough, but because it is bleached I didnt want to go bigger on the lights just now,and run the lights only 4hours a day for the first week then increased it to 5 hours a day the next week. This is to prevent light shock, which will be fatal now.

Every second day it is feeding on small pieces of hake, taking 40 - 55 min at a time. After a month it started to get small spots on it's tenticles.

Signs of recovery!! So I started to feed it every day(small pieces of hake) a quater of the mouth size. Water change every week 5% on a 1300L system, cleaning the protiene skimmer twise a week, and increasing the light period every day to 7 hours.

More colour on the tenticles, but on picture you dont really see the difference, so started to think this is all for nothing. However i still kept at it. Feeding every day and doing water changes to keep water as good as posable, no readings on nitrate 0 ,and I kept it like that. Salinithy I kept at 1.026 and temp on 25 degrees PH on 8,2. And I starded to increase the water movement on the nennie (add another pump(all pump's is made nennie safe). This seemed to make the nennie look much better.

Definately better looking much more promising.I at this stage increased the lightning period to 8 hours a day still on the 150 watt MH. Still doing al the water changes and feeding. Know the feeding started to become very easy.Food is sticking to the tenticles and it takes maybe 10minutes to finish eating.

And then it started to look better and better every day!! Now feeding 3 times a week bigger pieces of hake.Half the size of the mouth.

Absolutely textbook recovery! Phenomenal stuff! Well done on what is probably one of the trickiest nems... Let this thread also serve as a caution to those who want to keep them! Hahaha! Its looking fantastic and healthy :) So nice to see!

Do the clowns ever feed it?

Thank you. The clowns only try to steel the hake at this stage.

    Thank you all!!

I'm going to go with 250MH in the near future, then I will go back to say 3-4hour lightning per day.So it doesn't get light sock. Then it will probably recover even more.
