Grunter

    Hey people, yesterday we had a nice looking grunter (dead lol) at the shop. In the pic you cant see properly but it has green and blue on the body and red and orange on the dorsal fin. This was around 35cm long. Does anyone have this in their tanks or have experience keeping these? Guys at the coast. Just curious as you dont see these in peoples tanks :)

    I have had one - but could put up with the incessive grunting and ended up eating him:rofl:

    lol really? I thought they grunt when they come out of the water. Do you have a pic of him in a tank?

    Na - im jokin man - have caught them on Rod & Reel - you probably need a pretty big tank for them and they like to eat cracker shrimp and other molluscs.

    These are the spotted grunter we catch in durbs

    1St pic is not a grunter. It is an emperor of some sort. And we call them "scavengers" down here

    really? Now I know :) .. Our supplier said the guy he buys from in mossel bay has 2 mussel crackers and a red roman in a marine tank. Hardcore!
