Hello to all members of this forum and thank you, I am currently cycling my nano one: Nano resum DMS-400, 48L, I'd like to put two young ladies, especially these: Chrysiptera parasema and Dascyllus melanurus, the quedria get both at the same time and some soft coral, question is whether I would get in trouble if I put these 2 fish in the aquarium, especially for their aggression?, thanks

Welcome to MASA, glad you joined. Can you post pictures of the tank for us?
If this is your first tank you're setting up, please read the link in my signature for excellent info on starting a marine tank ;)

They are both damsels and will probably fight. Damsels can be very territorial especially if they were introduced first in the tank. They will terrorise any new fish you introduce in the future.
I would not do it if I where you, in a big tank maybe, but not a nano.

I thought so, then only put one of them, especially I like the Dascyllus melanurus, is a very nice fish for me, and I think it will go very well in a nano if you like then I put some small gobies, you who Tobes think?

I know the blue damsel is very agro, not sure if the 4 stripe has the same behaviour. Just remember that if you put him in the tank first, he might claim his territory and chase everything else.

hello frontosa and welcome to masa:)

how far along are you with the cycle of that tank? have you used good LR or going with biorock, sorry i couldnt tell from the avatre pic?

ive also got a small vollume tank (32l) which is bubbling away next to my desk. with such small spaces, real estate comes at a real premium and your LS selection becomes really important. Personally I would stay well away from any of the damsels or dotty backs in such a tank as they are likely to take the whole tank as territory and give you problems later on.

i would look at smaller goby's (say a high fin, or a rainfords, fire fish maybe etc etc) where you can have exceptional colour in small interesting fish.

whats the filtration like in your tank, do you have a decent skimmer?

welcome to masa and happy postings:)

    Crispin Hello, thank you.

    AQUARIUM SIZE: 48L / 12.5Gal
    DIMENSION (mm): 417 x 386 x 423

    FEATURE
    a. Durable ABS casing with high quality and bent glass
    b. Approved Safety submersible pump Provides quiet, reliable, and Powerful filtration
    c. Wonderful for fresh water plants and fish
    d. One blue and one white 15W energy-efficient lamps create the brilliant natural color for Aquatic Life
    e. Back-mounted filtration system with mechanical and biological filtration Both to keep the water clean and healthy.
You see, I have no skimmer, since there is not much space, and do not want to buy one and paste it into the glass because the aquarium is too small and not remain good, my intention is to do weekly water changes, the aquarium takes 2 months life, water changes, water is directly from the sea, because I live in a part of Palma de Mallorca that water is very good and good quality.
