    Hi Guys,

Im a 4th year student at Tuks. Im keen on learning about marine fish tanks and everything that goes with running a mini ecosystem. When growing up I had a tropical fish tank but I love the challenge of having to keep a marine tank going and a marine tank looks more genuine to me then a tropical. So I look forward to exploring the forum and get a little system going sometime. It looks great.

I think you should send him your "welcom links" start up kit. There is more than enough info in it to get anyone up and running.

Thanks for the hearty welcome, im sure to learn alot here.

Thats one thing i am wondering. Like I said im a student, so I have a student budget. So how much must I be setting aside? Im sure its difficult to answer because ofcourse thats all dependent on the size tank and what accessories and what im going to put in the tank right? Should R5k suffice and is it a constant, long term pounding on the wallet?

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome to MASA.

If 5K is your budget, then look at the for sale forum. There is a full system going for R4500, which is an absolute steal.

Thanks guys, still have lots of reading up to do and decisions to make, but it looks really interesting. There seems to be some good deals flying around on the for sale forum, which is comforting to know!
