    HI all,
I just like to find out what can I do with a bleached colony of GSP and what I need to do to make the colour come back

This had nothing to do with high levels of PO4 (Fosfate).

Thanks in advansed for your advise.

No idea. Give it to me and i'll see if it recovers :) hehe just joking.

Let me know if it comes right i'm looking for some GSP and willing to swop for something. Lets see what the guru's say.

Morne, I am concerned that you managed to bring your phosphates down so fast from levels you posted, perhaps there is a bit of shock going on?

Sentari, pop over, I will give you some that is growing over my Sinulara and one of my acroporas - its the bright metallic green variety

Ml, it is quite strange to hear from GSP bleached. My first question would be how long are they extending? Can you maybe post a photo? Where are they being kept wrt flow and light?

Because we don't know, can we have your water parameters and a picture, along with a list of any changes you have made.

It looks like the star polyps might have somehow expelled some zooxanthellae. Not 100% sure of this though. I know from experience, that when one sometimes dose commercial iodine (very highly diluted iodine/iodide) does this help softcorals come back from problems, like this one you are experiencing.

    Perhaps try this?

Other than that - just make sure that your water parameters are 100% reef conditions (lowish nutrients), and the star polyps should recover.

Perhaps try and target feed the star polyps with coral food. This might also assist in getting them back 100%

    Hi Jacques,

Would it help to remove the GSP and put them in a low spectrum lighting tank like my other marine tank because I have seen my other rock recover and I sold it for 300 bucks it was a 1 kg rock full of GSP

    WILL THIS HELP??

You could always try Morne. I think that it might be worth the try. Go for it. Leave the GSPs there for at least a week then. Just monitor their progress day-to-day...

Yes wil do so but I think my PO4 is still a little high but its hard to read from my testkits colour indeks. I am dosing PO4 remover and I will do my best to buy any natural produk on the market to day I will try and add Lettas algea (blaarslaai algea) to my tank it looks very nice.

The polops is stil white and they have never been closed. I just want them back to normal fully expanded and nice but now I think just to skrape or pull i of therocks and begin again.

    hi morne,

    please post your tank parameters.

In this case, saying "all params are normal" means nothing.

I will try help after they have been put up
