For the last week my monti cap colony has been fading to a brownish white..all of them...my fish and other corals including 2 shrimps are looking better than ever....

    What could it be?
All parameters are good exept Nitrites and phosphates, but been struggling to get it down, also found 4 aptaisia!!!!

    What to do?

Bud sorry if this sounds harsh but one cannot put LS into a tank that was only setup last month+1. Remove the stock, let the tank cycle and then slowly start over.

No it's fine, sometimes there's no better way to say it...
My water and other live rock is about a year old though, will it still need cycling even if i just moved all over to new tank?

It is important to insure that the filtration is adequate after any move. this depends on a lot of variables. And more so on tanks that run with a natural filtration system. (DSB, LR, ATS etc)

Are you sure you are not confusing NO2 & NO3. NO2 is usually measured in mg/l or ppm and the range is normally from 0 to about 2.0 mg/l so your 10ml/l and i assume the "ml" should be "mg" is death stuff. On the other hand 10mg/l NO3 is still acceptable if tested with a quality test kit. What test kits are you using?

Mmmmm, i'm not sure now either.

Salifert test kits for the most but Tetra Test kit for No2, No3 and Ca

I'll test tomorrow again and check what happening, should i do some major water changes?

I would first check all parameters with quality test kits like the Salifert. Put the tetra ones in the garbage bin.

You also need to test the KH and ca levels.

Also note that monti caps normally are the first to show signs of Iodine depletion in your system. But get the basics right first and test parameters that NJ mentioned.

SPS etc turning brown = high nutrients in the system (in general)

I had the same problem. Add some iodine to your water daily. It will colour up in a few days

Bud you left us in the dark. Have you managed to sort out your coral changing issues and clarify your water test kit results?
