    Hey guys...

I have a major problem with GHA. I have a 6ft 800 litre tank (incl sump). Don't have many fish, and don't feed much. My nitrates sit between 2 - 3 and P04 is sitting at 0.08. I do a 10% water change every week, of which I use red seas coral pro salt. I have a bio pellet reactor, skimmer rated for a 1500 litre tank, dsb, ozone. I have vertex led, and 2 mp40. Any ideas on what I can do? Phosphate reactor?

How old is the system ?
Reduce your light period and dose bacteria
Also get hold of some Tuxedo urchins

Could this be due to me using play sand in my dsb?

Man... I'm stumped ;( My tank looks like the Incredible Hulk lives in it. I check water parameters basically every second day.

How old is your lighting and what type of lighting do you have.

A mates tank had the same issue and he removes as much as he can by hand and he started dosing no3po4x and its recieded nicely virtually gone. Also a good clean up crew.

also dosing NoPoX will help but it will take probably two weeks before you can see changes.
how much live rock do you have in your system?

    Wouldn't suggest nopox
Rather try and sort it out "naturally"
Chemical ways will Only treat the results not the cause of it

I have not got any experience with bio pellets, but the combination that works the best for me was:

    • phosphate media, replaced regularly (used it in a bag, but reactor would be better)
    • bio cubes
    • and/or NoPoX
    • good flow

Have you tried 3 days of lights off. Also if possible try cleaning the rock with tooth brush. Worked for me i'm running pellets and gfh and its gone now.
