    Hi,
I bought a bag of Fiji Pink arag. to use as my substrate
The inside of the plastic bag is greenish - algea, the arag is still fine with no green on it.
is this ok to use? is normal wash with RO water OK before I put it in my tank ?

don't you have to wash the arag before using it, like with play sand.

If its live sand then you wouldn't want to wash out all the bacteria and beneficial growth but otherwise I'd wash with RO to be safe.

Hi Neo. Usually Carribsea Aragonite does not require washing. But in your case, I would certainly wash it.

    thx all,
it is 'dead' sand so washing wont remove any bacteria, yes i think i will wash it due to the green inside the bag, better save hey.
