    Hi all

I have 5 green chromis in my 50 litre quarantine tank for 2 weeks now
Now one has developed this white, raised lesion on the tail. All fish are still happy and eating.

Any help on cause and treatment would be greatly appreciated.

    Tank parameters - ammonia, nitrite, nitrate 0, sg 1.011, ph 7.8,temp 26 degC, 10% water change 2x/week

Thats a battle scar. It is being bullied by one of the others. This is what chromis do.

I 2nd that .... Chromis are wonderfull schooling fish, but the worst part is, its not 100% suitable for captivity coz the group developes a leader and then the leader will target the smallest of the group until it dies and then move onto the new smallest an on and on untill their is only him left....

Other nice suitable schoolin fish are fire gobies, cardinals (specially the blue eye threadfins) and if your tank is larhge enough, tangs school aswell(same kinds that is)

    Good luck

Fire gobies also tend to kill the weakest member if kept in a smallish tank.

Flasher wrasse and fairy wrasse are great, but it can be tricky to find females (even though there are far more in the wild than males...dumb exporters).
