    hi callie:)
personally i think you need to look at the possible sources of phosphates entering the system, do you know the TDS of RO water you use?

how do you feed, could defrosted frozen foods be a source?

whats the LR like, could they be slowly leaching PO4 back into the system?

i dont notice a skimmer, are you only running a ATS? whats the growth on the ats like, could it be twaeked to improve the algae growth?

i would definatly run a phosphate remover, its such a simple easy way to reduve phosphates.
and yes by all means add a lawn mover blennie, or some turbo snails etc to help out.

but find the source of the problem, then treat the symptoms

    :)

i AGREE with crispin, find the source of the problem first. Run phosphate remover and look at your RO water. What kind of cleaning crew do you have, turbo snails, bristle stars, hermit crabs. U need a crew of 20 per 100lt of water. 5 of each as a rule of thumb, since ive done that they keep the tanks algae at bay. Just my take and experience, there might be some other help out there.

I would personally not recommend a blennie as you are new to this, they need a good diet and it must be ongoing. But if you intend on keeping norrie or some form of food for it yes.

I do have a blennie in tank but i dont eat the green algea. Will get a few turbo snails and a good phosphate remover. I believe a yellow tang will also do the job.

Convict tangs also does a great job at eating the green stuff, and they are less expensive.

Rowaphos - it removes phosphates for the visible control of algae - and silicates and it removes some heavy metals.
So you control algae and diatom blooms. And most of all it lasts.
