Good Urchin

    hey guys i know urchins eat Coraline and algae. but my one also seems to love the tiny bit of cyno i had on one rock he went straight for it. now i have nothing.:thumbup: has anyone else's urchins done the same.

    you sure he wasnt just pulling it off or rubbing it off as he slid over it?

    nop i looked no sign of the stuff. rock is clean as a whistle

    yeah but good flow is enough to remove cyano aswell so maybe gaz might be right. but who knows

    I also think my urchin chows cyano. Since I got him i never had cyano problems

    Not sure of cyano, but beware. The two types common in our east coast rock pools, would be those that eat algae, and those that eat sponges. Roughly speaking The longed spined ones are the algae eaters. The shorter spined sponge eaters, unless fed an appropriate diet will die.
