My tank crashed in December after my caulerpa went asexual and I lost all my fish except 1 fire shrimp, bubble tip anemones, corals and hermit crabs. I haven't replaced the fish so the above is the only livestock that is left.

I now want to re-stock but since I haven't had fish in the tank for over 40days I just recalled reading an article somewhere where they recommended going fishless for 72 days as the most effective way of getting rid of ich as this used to be my major challenge.

My question therefore is if I want to go fishless to permanently resolve my ich issue in the tank, should I also remove the livestock left ie "fire shrimp, bubble tip anemones, corals and hermit crabs" or I can leave them there as they are not fish?

    Fishless means... No fish.

Can leave all inverts, corals and what not in the tank.

Just remember to feed the shrimps and hermits something. Just a little bit.

IMO you are going to waist your time if you do not have a propper QT set up in place.

All it takes is 1 little bugger to sneak through.

I also lost all my fish to "Ich", I also red an article about "Ich" there is no Miraclle Cure for it. Basically if you want to kill "ICH" u have to go Fishless for at least 90 days, syphon ur substrate to remove what is left in the Tank as the eggs drop from thinfected white spots we see on our fish. So that's my 2c on ICH..
