want to stick perspex to perspex, building a cover for internal over-flow, any ideas what would be the ideal glue that would not be toxic to the live stock.

Rax - afaik - people use chloroform or formalin (not 100% sure which) to do this. Perhaps just wait for some more answers before you rush out to get either ;)

I've used Tangit PVC glue to stick perspex to perspex in the past. Works wonders. :)

use tensol 12. its designed to bond perspex. it can be bought from any place that sells perspex or plexiglass. when it dries it is non toxic.

tensol 12 is basically perspex dissolved in chloroform. when exposed to air the chloroform evaporates and you left with perspex.

Chloriform works very well and if you mix a bit of perspex shavings with it you can carry on until you have a gel that will fill in gaps in imperfect cuts you sometimes get when doing a DIY without the perfect tools. And it is cheap.
