Glass Thickness

    Can you guy please sugest the thickness of glass to use.
    The dim are 110cm L x 50cm W x 60cm H

    5mm or better yet 6MM

    Did a similar sized sump with 4mm and it was a b*&%h to work with during tank maintenance. Was petrified every time that I moved anything in the sump and it touched the glass that the glass would crack. Since then used 6mm as a minimum.

    Will make a stand with egg crate for LR, so should have better flow around it.

    I would use 5 or 6mm for the sides and while it should be OK on the bottm too I would get 10mm for the base.

    I would not use less than 6mm aswell.

    check on your difference in rate Pm2 between 6mm (R311) and 10mm (R318) its only R7 difference down here by us.... 5 mm being R295

    5mm should be fine though as ist well supported..

    Thx Guys, look to be a shortage of 8mm.

    Can anybody suggest a good supplier in the Durban area.

    8mm is an import and 10mm is normally cheaper....
