    I have used the glass thickness calculator. 1800 x 800 x 600 12mm glass has a safety factor of 3.5.

Just need to run this by masa! Is 12mm glass going to be ok? Want to go rimless.

    Thanks!

    Morning!

I want to go order this glass just now;) A confirmation on 12mm glass would make me feel at ease!

I personally would not go rimless with 12mm. I think you will have some bowing on the long panels.

    just put a rim

it does not look bad at all esp if its polished and beveled with black silicon ;)

even that will have some bowing over 1800mm
you can use cable bracing for a sleek look

So went ahead and ordered 12mm with bracing. Bracing top and bottom with 12mm x 60mm.

Is this ok! I just got to be 100% on this.

that should be fine, its mostly needed for the top, say every 500mm

    on my 2500mm i used 4 braces

i would deffinatley not go rimless with these dimentions, i think you should be looking at 24mm in thickness in order to go with a rimless design,

you can however build this in 12mm if it has properly sized eurobracing added,

in order to ommit a center brace on my 1.8 x 1.000 x .700 build (12mm) i went with 15mm length way braces on the top and 10mm width way bracing on each end..

i went 150mm in width on the front and back braces (15mm) and 100mm in width on the width way bracing (10mm)

i dont say 12mm wont work as a brace but i defiinatley think it would be under more pressure to hold.

increase the width to 100mm, 60mm will snap for sure, i have seen a 1.800 x .600 x .600 snap with 50mm wide eurobracing.. so im extreemly doubtful 60mm in width will hold.

I would have gone with 12mm bracing 120mm (150mm) wide all round and then leave all central bracing.

    Ok! Will do:m106:

I was also considering that. I think I will sleep better if the tank has more support.
