    Hi Guys

Want a cube so I thought I would build one.

I am looking for some glass.

Best price I could find was R433 for 10mm 650x650.

Do anybody know of a cheaper source or is this price OK.

So if you know somebody who know somebody that have glass that fell of the back of a truck please let me know.

    Regards

Is that price float glass ? Pondering a cube myself and might consider a diy project for the lightie and I if the cost savings and potential father : son bonding / joy outweighs the pain of diy :)

It's ordinary glass. You get floating and starfire. Starfire is super clear. Floating glass tends to look a bit green but only if the glass is thick

    Starfire obviously more expensive.

As far as i know optiwhite glass is sold as starphire glass in SA. My glass supplier told me that any starphire in SA is imported and the cost of doing so is outrageous and it will generally come into SA as a finished product/tank.

Both are low iron glass. I personally would not build a display tank out of float glass, optiwhite glass is an obvious choice when you see it next to float glass. The price should be around double that of float glass.

I have seen a sample piece of starphire which my supplier had and it is very noticeably different to optiwhite and optiwhite is very different to float glass.
