    Morning everyone.
Please help this post is on behalf of a mate
I will get him to comment once singed up.
I got a mesg this morning asking why he has
"Brown like stuff" over the glass.
I asked when last water change was done.
What water he is topping up wit??
    What supps he has added

Hasn't done a water change in a while. Told him to start with that
Rain water is used as he lives on a farm.
No supps added. What can the cause be.

    Waiting for pics to follow..

i am sorry but I struggle to understand how you can be taken seriously. Is this a freshwater tank or marine ( rainwater comment ). What is the capacity? What filtration is present? Unless fish are dying I dont understand why this is seen as urgent. Do the basics. Get your water parameters checked. Clean your tank. Do regular water changes.

As you can read I posted on behalf of a friend that's the information I got.
Sorry for not stating that it's a salt water tank. Has a canister filter.
All I was asking was for some advise. Thanks

Is it a new tank? if so you could have diatoms growing which is perfectly normally and part of any tank cycling...it will die back as quickly as it grew if this is the case. If its not use RO water for top ups...not rainwater.....and keep your nutrients (phosphates and nitrates)as low as possible...

    Thanks flappy
Heard from the local pet shop that it's due to the tank maturing.
    Thanks
