COJ have kindly cut my power off and it doesn't look like it will be reconnected anytime soon without intervention from a layer.

I have a 1200W modified sinewave inverter with two 12v batteries that keeps my tank running for a few hours and I need to get a generator to run the inverter and charge teh batteries until I can get this mess sorted out. What is the minimum size generator I will need? Will a 1200W suffice or do I need to go bigger?

2.2Kva Gen should be fine, unless of course you're looking at powering up more of the household. if it's a clever inverter in terms of Display screens and the likes, just pop an AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) onto the Generator.

Only want to power the essentials connected to my inverter setup. 5000lph return, 100w heater, small air pump for cubes.

Will the 1kva be enough to run the inverter and battery charger though?

thanks for the advice everyone. Ended up getting a 2kw generator at a reasonable price and my tank is running on bare essentials for now.
