Here's my first attempt at a marine aquarium.

    The tank is a AquaH20 (76cm L X 40cm W x 46cm H)

    The Hardware

    2 x Hopar T5 light units (54 w per unit)
    1 x Seio M1100
    1 x Boyu WM-2 wavemaker
    1 x Octopus HOB Skimmer

    40kg Kiddies Playsand

    10kg Live Rock

It needs rock, anybody know where I can find some good quality LR in CPT?

I have no idea what fish I'll put in there so suggestion are welcome.
Any other comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for the LR advice; I'll contact Obi-Wan.

Sean: Andre lives in Cape Town; just doing some contract work in Douala. We both keep freshwater planted tanks and met through our mutual interest.

Andre: I hope this venture goes well. I feel a bit out of my depth there's so much to learn still.

Wee-Man: I intend on taking it slowly. I would like to see how things go with easy to keep soft corals and fish and depending on how it goes...

A very warm welcome to BOTH AndreC as well as Gawie! Gawie - I see that you have started your nano out AWESOMELY! Great skimmer for a nano....
You can do with a LITTLE bit more life-rock, but you don't specifically HAVE to get - only for looks. So, Yes - if you can - go for Fiji Premium Live rock.... Then at least you would get some REALLY AWESOME live on it as well.....

    W.R.T fish - it's always an issue with nano's....

    Here's some examples:
    - coral beauty angel
    - bi-color angel
    - lemon angel
    - fire angel (Very $$$$$$)
    (these are all pygmy angels)

    Most gobies/blennies would be perfect...

To be perfectly honest Gawie - if your tank has cycled and you are happy with the water parameters - go on and get some corals first.....

Have a look at Alfie's nano - and the corals he has in his nano.....

You can of-course go for the obligatory nemo's ;-) (occelaris or true percula clown-fish).....

Jacques: The plan is to add at least 10kg more rock. Hopefully Obi-Wan can sort me out with that.
    W.R.T. the fish no Nemos:p
The pygmy angels are stunning fish and I will definately add one once the tank is more mature.

Mekaeel: You gonna have to take Henk's word on the skimmer becasue mine's only been running for 3 days so I cant really comment yet ;-)
