    Hi guys
I was browsing through the internet the other day and came across this light. Looks good from what I've read up on it. Anybody out there that is familiar with this unit or is more technically minded hereof that wants to add a thought or two. Actually they not badly priced. This is a full spectrum unit that is controllable with your smartphone. Gives you the lunar cycle settings, sunrise/sunset feature as well. Check out the link below to read more about this unit.

looks like a great light and the design is quite awesome.. one thing that surprised me tho was that they only give 30000 hours as life cycle for the LEDs... where I'm used to note like 60000 hours especially for Cree. but other than than that it definitely looks like a very interesting product, thanks for sharing.. maybe one of the sponsors can look into importing them..... @Andre@ReefAquatics ??

They come with either Bridgelux or the Cree led's. Maybe in this description they referring to is the bridgelux unit. The Cree costs a little more than the bridgelux unit. Hopefully the cree units life is much more.

That's quite a large number of LEDS per cm2 for a passively cooled heatsink? the higher the diode junction temp the shorter LED lifespan I would ask the manufacture more questions about this. The lifespan of LED's are only valid if the design obeys the diode specification sheets and designed around this.

Reading further, the technical spec on this unit is very sparse.

My unit comes from a supplier off Alibaba. Was actually quite impressed with it especially for the price. Haven't had any problems with it.

If I may ask, how much did you pay in total? Which length unit?

    Very valid comment.

One need to fully understand the underlying fundamentals of LEDs

For the unit, shipping, import duties etc, total cost was R1900
Its a 120w unit with 90° optics. 2 dimmable channels (whites and colours on 1 channel & blues on the other)
I have the link somewhere, but the link below is to a very similar unit.

Anybody else have any questions about this unit, please share so I can go back to the manufacturer with these questions. I have already asked a couple questions and received some answers. I will post all these after I've asked all the questions I possibly could in this regard.

    pic of the fans....

And where it is located. If at one end point, I do not believe that they will be able to cool the LEDs furthermost away efficiently.

Confirmed no fans. Terribly difficult to get technical spec from supplier sales manger not clear on what XT crees are and cannot show me their cree spec sheet neither can they show real units over tanks. pics of the psu shows max 100w

So a little leg work done for you guys, rest is up to you.

    hi guys,

    just tagged this post.

I have the 4' Galaxy wifi light unit on my tank. It is awesome. Shows off the fish and corals beautifully.

    I have two Q's to ask ...

    1. I don't have any specs / data on the unit. Is there anyway to getting some
    2. Can the cover be removed so that the inside can be cleaned.

    many thanks.

    hi MerlinT

can't pm you until I have 5 posts on the board.
I was looking to see if there were any design plans on the unit.

I think I know how to take the led cover off..but wanted to be sure before I started to play with it.
