    Greetings all,

I have a green galaxy coral for several months now, wen i got it, only half of the rock it was on, was alive, and the other half jst dead corallites. I was plannin on cutting off the dead half, and then i looked closely and noticed some random spots on the dead half that the corallites have some growth coming back.

    Question is.
If there's a ''dead'' section in a galaxy, can they grow back on the dead corallites?

Or where there's guys jst in hibernation?

Last Q. I haven't seen his sweepers come out in some time now, could that be a problem? Nearest coral to him is a GSP about 20cm away.

They will grow over dead spots but they need decent light and calcium supplementation. They like strong, random flow. They are quiet aggresive and can produce sweeper tentacles to attack nearby corals

Q1: The coral can grow back, but it will not fill-in dead skeleton. It will grow new skeleton over the old skeleton (or grow in another direction).

Q2: It *might* be a bad sign if the sweeper tentacles were coming out a lot before...

Wen i just got it almost every night it extended, i thought it's something that would happen every night naturally.

Re the skeleton and re-growth... it's hard to describe, but you'll see what I mean if it starts to grow back. It won't fill in dead skeleton. If the skeleton is not completely dead, it will grow a little differently...
