    Hi.
Maybe this is not a thread and could be a simple question :whistling::thumbup:. But tonight i have seen something in my reef tank i have never seen. To me this doesn't look to normal. It looks like on my rocks and sand is growing a type of "green/clear" algea and there is bubbles stick on to it. It looks like this is starting to grow all over. When a use my stick to lift it its like a peal that i lift from the ground and the bubbles come of.

Hope it make sense what i right.

    Thanks
    Chris

Hey Chris, by the sounds of it, what you're describing could be bubble algae. just make sure when you remove it doesn't pop, I've heard they could release spores which would cause more growth of this nuisance algae. maybe post a pic of it?

It's probably some kind of algae that is so happy and healthy, it's producing oxygen bubbles. :)

I don't think it's bubble algae. If it were bubble algae, the bubbles would come off with "peeling." Actually, you can't really "peel" bubble algae. If it's peel-able, I would guess it's slime/cyano algae.
